Nokia Security Code problem

First step to reset Nokia security code:

The first thing you should try is the Nokia factory default security code, which is 12345. As described above, most Nokia’s have this default security codee. Unless you've changed it at some point, it’s likely that this is the code you need and you can stop here. Phew!

The Security Master Code:

If the factory default security code didn't work, the next thing you can try is what’s known as a security master code. A security master code is a ten digit number that can entered into your handset and will be accepted as if it were your actual security code. The security master code is calculated based on your handsets IMEI number.
How to find your IMEI number

What’s an IMEI number?

An IMEI number, or International Mobile Equipment identity number, is a number that uniquely identifies your handset. To obtain your IMEI number, remove the back cover and the battery from the phone; the IMEI number will be underneath the battery. It’s a 15 digits long number, just like the picture on the right. Dont forget to take a note of your IMEI number as you will need it in the next step. You can read more about IMEI’s at Wikipedia if you’re in to that sort of thing!

What phones are compatible with the security master code calculator?

Most Nokia’s released prior to 2005 are compatible. Here is a list of compatible phones; you should only calculate a master code if you have one of these models.
DCT3 Nokia models: 402, 2100, 3210, 3310, 3330, 3410, 5110, 5210, 5510, 6110, 6150, 6210, 6250, 6500, 7110, 8210, 8250, 8850, 8890, 9000, 9100, 9210.

For a (non-definitive) list of incompatible phones, see the bottom of this article.

OK, my phone is compatible! How do I get and then enter a security master code?

Use our very own online master security code calculator at the top of the page.
Armed with your new security master code, when your phone requests a normal security code, simply enter the master security code instead. Your Nokia should now reset itself to the default security code, 12345. Easy as that.

I have a newer Nokia model, or the security master code didn’t work.
What can I do to remove my security code?

I’m afraid that you will have to take your phone to your nearest Nokia service centre or Nokia approved mobile repair shop. They can reset the security code for you, but you will be charged for this service! It’s is also likely that they will want to see your proof of purchase to prove that you actually own the phone. I hope you kept those receipts....

Incompatible phones:

As a rule of thumb, any Nokia released after 2006 won’t be compatible with a security master code. Here is a list of incompatible models. Please be aware that it’s not a definitive list. I don’t have the time to update it every time Nokia release a new phone!
